A New Way Home

Geraldine S.

We had a family car that everyone could drive when someone needed to get to work, get groceries, or take my grandmother and disabled mother to their doctors but it broke down. It cost over $1,300 to fix and somehow through family help and emptying out saving we paid for it only for it to break down again a week later and cost over $1,500 to fix this time for the main problem and a little over $400 for other minor problems. We dont have much money especially after the first fix and now cant afford to have the car fixed. I dont like my 71 year old grandmother having to take the bus several miles just to pick up her medicine when she used to drive. My mother cant handle distant walks because of the stroke she had so she doesnt really leave the house much anymore. I just want to be able to help and a new car to rely on would mean the world to us.
