I’m submitting this entry with hopes that I am able to give my girlfriend, Lynsie, a chance to win something that will absolutely change her life, a car that she is able to call her own. Lynsie is a third year college student at Indiana University Northwest studying elementary education. To get to this point in her life however, Lynsie has struggled financially to there. Lynsie is one of a family of 5 sisters. Since the beginning of her life, her parents faced severe financial struggles trying to run a small business that didn’t work out in the ways they imagined, which resulted in her mother single handedly attempting to provide for her 6 daughters, working multiple jobs and an extensive amount of hours just to make ends meet. Because of the financial crisis her parents went through, Lynsie was determined ineligible to receive financial aid which has required her to pay full tuition to receive her education. On top of this, she has been trying to support herself with minimum wage jobs, working at fast food and being a teachers assistant at a private catholic school since the age of 16, along with a maintenance job at this school as well. Most importantly, Lynsie commutes to school every single day and does not have reliable transportation. She has had to drive a chevorlet tracker with a great deal of miles and mechanical issues and would not be considered safe for the amount of driving she does, which requires her to use her grandmothers vehicle from time to time which is not always guaranteed. If Lynsie were selected to win this vehicle, it would impact her life a great deal and assist her with the financial stresses that she faces in her day to day life. We thank Chevrolet of Homewood for the consideration and hope a christmas miracle can be made possible for a future educator! Thank you Chevrolet!
