I am entering this contest for my who is my inspiration. My son in an extremely hard worker. He was working two jobs which he had to take several buses from our home in Glenwood, Il to commute from job to job an then home. Kenyon had to leave home @ 4:45am to catch his first bus and would not get home until late at night. On October 9, 2018 my son was hit by a car crossing the street on his way home from work. Both of his legs were broken and he had a minor spinal injury. My son had to have rods, plates, and screws placed in both of his legs. While in the hospital he had to have several blood transfusions and had complications following his surgery. He was released from the hospital in a wheelchair. However, after months of Physical Therapy and the grace of God he is now walking and has returned to work. The person who hit my son did NOT have any insurance and my son has tons of medical bills as a result of this incident. During this entire ordeal my son has never complained not ONCE. My son still experiences pain as a result of the accident and struggles to walk long distances, climb stairs, and stand for long periods of time. He would benefit a great deal from a new car to help him get to work and avoid having to take public transportation. With all of the medical bills pouring in from his accident he can't afford to pay for a new car. He has shown great character and resiliency throughout this ordeal, his is truly my inspiration.
