Not a want, but a need

Maeve L.

My name is Maeve. I am currently a junior at North Central College in Naperville. I live on campus. Next year, I cannot afford to live on campus anymore so I must commute. I do not have a car. Here lies my most frustrating dilemma. I had a car, but my father’s truck broke down. Him being the sole provider of our house, and the amazing hardworking man he is, I did not give it a second thought when I handed over my keys to him. He works hard to make ends meet. Because I am a full time student, I do not have time for a job. My dad in no way can afford to help me get a car, and my funds are very low as well. A new car would mean the world to me, and my friends, who are kind enough to drive me around when I need it. I would like to stop being a burden on everyone else. I think it is time to put myself first. Which is why I’m writing this. Please consider me, you would not find a more appreciative recipient.
